We have had very strong success with Plantskydd in our trials.  Following are a number of photographs (click for larger image).

Perhaps the use of wolf urine and later mountain lion urine helped deter repeat browsers, but after about six weeks it is clear the Plantsydd alone has had a positive affect.  While there has been damage, traces of the beasts have been limited to two or three occasions.  It is safe to conclude that the animals have been in large part directed elsewhere.

But spraying does require attention, repeated applications, and a fair amount of effort . . .

Aspen trees, unlike other species, have much in common with the beasts that devour them.  They do better if left as unrestrained as possible.  Tree Guards are great for new plantings that require support but Tree Protectors are best for anything under about 10 feet.
